Vivien Runacres
Vivien is a Registered General Nurse, who has worked in the NHS for many years as a Nursing Sister in addition to working with the elderly in Nursing Homes as a Matron/Manager.
She also holds a BA in Sociology, a Masters degree in Crime, Deviance and Punishment. Accredited in 2006 Vivien became a qualified family mediator having been accredited by ADR Group. Vivien is a lead mediator with MDS, ADR and Bromley Community Mediation Service.
Vivien has also provided generalist advice to the public through the Citizens Advice Bureau over the last 6 years. In this role she has helped to resolve a wide range of issues and disputes including debt, redundancy and employment matters.
As an advocate, she has successfully represented clients at employment and disability living allowance appeals.
Vivien has found mediation skills to be invaluable in resolving complex issues involving patients and nursing home residents, both within the setting and externally. She is familiar with the complex and sensitive issues that can arise between relatives, patients and staff in a care setting. She is also experienced in resolving workplace related disputes that may arise between staff at all levels, whether management, nursing or ancillary staff.
Vivien’s empathetic approach enables her to build trusting working relationships with her clients, providing a sound platform for resolving disputes of all types.
She is a committed Christian, bible class teacher and with a colleague offers mediation to Church Communities. Her other interests include travel, reading and keeping fit.
