Dr Zaza Elsheikh

Dr Zaza Elsheikh qualified as a Solicitor in 2004, having trained at Hempsons, in London. She also qualified as a Medical Doctor in 1994 (University College London).
Whilst working in Clinical Litigation she proficiently distilled high value claims and frequently attended Courts as an Advocate. Her client base emanated from both public and private facets of the Health Sector eg Royal Colleges, PCTs, NHS Trusts and Strategic Health Authorities. Additionally, Zaza acted for Charities, Local Authorities and individuals. She actively managed claims on behalf of both Claimants and Defendants in disputes concerning Commercial Property, Partnerships, Employment Law, Racial and Disability Discrimination.
However, convinced that litigation could ultimately prove destructive with little, if any, real benefit for the "winner" of the case, she elected to become a Mediator. She achieved accreditation as a Mediator through UK Mediation in 2004 and also became CEDR accredited in 2006.
Having successfully pioneered the use of mediation in clinical disputes in Sudan in 2005, Zaza set up Medical Dispute Solutions (MDS) as a platform for the provision of more widely accessible mediation and advocacy services for parties engaged in a dispute involving a medical, commercial, property, family matters as well as legal costs. All the MDS members have medico-legal backgrounds.
MDS has recently achieved Civil Mediation Council accreditation as a mediation provider and is therefore also included on the National Mediation Helpline.
Zaza is also very keenly involved in the further expansion of neighbourhood mediation services such as Bromley Community Mediation Service and Conflict and Change in Newham so that they are able to provide commercial mediation to the local community. She also frequently delivers seminars on challenging bias against race.
As an experienced mediator, Zaza has increasingly been asked to mediate cases which have been referred to mediation by the High Court or Employment Tribunals. The subject matters have included medical, commercial, property, family or employment issues as well as costs.
Her forte is in rapidly establishing a strong rapport with clients from all professional and social backgrounds which is particularly conducive to the exploration of disputants' underlying needs and interests and facilitating the path to mutually acceptable solutions to a conflict.
Zaza's hobbies include: Latin languages, dance, and reading.
